When working in the care sector, it is required by law that all care workers and registered nurses are working in compliance with the Care Quality Commission (CQC). Elite Care proudly retain the standards required within every staff member we employ who are fully trained to care certificate standard. Find out what these standards are here:
There are actually 15 standards that are taught for the Care Certificate and these are as follows;
- Understand your role
- Your Personal Development
- Duty of Care
- Equality and Diversity
- Work in a Person Centered Way
- Privacy and Dignity
- Fluids and Nutrition
- Awareness of Mental Health, Dementia and Learning Disabilities
- Safeguarding Adults
- Safeguarding Children
- Basic Life Support
- Health and Safety
- Handling Information
- Infection Prevention and Control
(As detailed on www.skillsforcare.org)
To keep to these standards, we follow these 5 core values within our company as a whole and staff management. We’re the care agency you can trust.
1) Quality Training
Quality Training does not mean E-learning. Elite Care’s staff are trained personally by our fully qualified nursing and care teachers with thorough experience in the field. This ensures that our staff are fully qualified in a practical environment to do the job, rather than having staff who are ‘qualified’ because they completed an online course, which usually consists of video presentations and power points.
Care work is a forever evolving field. New legislations can actually mean your staff are no longer qualified to do the job. At Elite Care, we keep updated on any legislations relating to care work and we support our staff in these changes. We always ensure that our staff are aware of any changes and will provide further training if necessary. We also give support to our customers (care home owners) who have any queries on this subject, with all calls going straight to a human at Elite Care HQ, 24/7.
Within any industry, communication is crucial to ensure efficient and effective business practices. For example, it’s important to communicate with your staff regarding any changes; be it to legislation, shifts, training times etc. It is also important to communicate with customers efficiently. In Elite Care’s case, all of our calls are answered by a human – no need to press 1 or 2 to speak to someone. We are also on call 24/7, so any customer needs are met whenever they are required – even on Sundays. We also communicate the level of training we provide to both our employees and our customers, so everyone knows that Elite Care is the best choice when looking for care staff.
It is essential that our care staff is committed to the job at hand. Elite Care work hard to find the most dedicated and committed candidates to ensure all staff provide first class care to our customers and their residents. All Elite Care staff are required to do a course on each of the 15 key skills listed above and we are committed to supporting our staff with these courses.
At Elite Care, we deliver the training to our employees through both our on-site training facilities and our ‘mobile office’. We are the only care agency that can bring the interview and the training to our carers and nursing staff. We also have dedicated full time trainers to ensure that everyone completes their care certificate. Furthermore, we’re the only care agency that takes our employees to and from their front door, to the care homes, with full time driving staff.
At Elite Care, we endeavour to support our staff more than any other agency, come and see what the Elite Care family can do for your employment prospects.
